Has anyone changed the hard drive on a 3000? I do not see anything in the manual about it. Is there anything special that needs done?

The IPS is just a PC like any other PC. You should be able to just change it out and reghost new HD. I've done this in older KIPs, I don't see any difference when it comes to the HD.

Reinstalling the KIP software from the CD that should have come with the printer. Usually taped to the controller.

It's very simple. Just install your new harddrive and run your restore CD when the IPS boots up. Nothing special needs to be done.
