Hello again, need some help asap if possible. Our machine is making a loud pop noise every 10 prints or so on the left hand side of machine. Took of side cover and the pop has something to do with the chain that drives in there. When it makes the loud pop the sheet is usually cut short and the image where the pop happens is slightly mashed together. Sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is the chain jumping when it pops?
It sounds like a gear somewhere in the drive system.

Yes the chain pops. Just monitiored it while running and either the chain is bad (to much slack) or the bottom right hand gear (below clutches m3 and m4) is bad as the chain coming off that gear seams to snake and not be tight.

You want that chain as tight as it will go.
See if you can tighten it up and give it another try.

Took chain apart and put it back on and seems to be a little tighter and better. Will check sprockets to see which one I can adjust...If anyone knows exactly which one please let me know. Wouldnt be a Friday without a little trouble! Let me also just say all the help over the years from everyone on here has been great and I appreciate it all and dont know what I would be doing without everyone being so generous! Thanks again to everyone...

If the chain is stretched out that much you really should replace it and any of the sprockets that are worn. You will just continue to have issues if you don't do this. Fix it once and fix it right.

A piece of advice here, we tried replacing just the "worn out" sprockets and it didn't help. We ended up having to replace all of them and the chain. Just trying to save you some time:) Good luck!

When there is no chain to replace right away., just unlock it and turn the inside out , that will make the chain tighter

I think autlense is trying to say is to take the spring off and take out the two screws that hold the sliding sprocket. Take that sprocket and the plate that it is on and turn it 180 degree so that the spring tab will be on the opposite side and then put in the two locking screws, loosely. Install the chain back on and move the slider plate to put tension on the chain then tighten the two screws. The spring will and cannot be used in this position.

*****BUT like autlense said, this is only if there is not a replacement chain readilly available. When the new chain arrives, switch everything back to original.******

What ended up being the solution for this? I am having the same problem. I replaced all the sprockets and chain about 8 months ago for a different issue. I am thinking that is too soon for those parts to be bad again. Recently, I have replaced drawer 1 and drawer 2 clutches, 2 white gears #3505700030 on the drive side, and the paper feed clutch/brake #7708060030. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
