Anyone had to sale against this plotter. If so anyone seen any thing that is a big problem with it, other than the exit tray only holds 20 sheets. Its a 5D a minute plotter with a color scanner.

Upgrade of 6204 - only good things I see are on-board color scanning and larger control panel; still does not match up against the 3100

*4 D/min standard; extra to upgrade to 5 D/min
*No end caps for paper rolls; still use long spindles
*Prints/copies exit to front blocking access to paper drawer
*Scanner must pre-feed to check size, then it feeds in all the way
(Note: it is a re-branded Colortrac SmartLF ci40 scanner...scanner speed is rated higher but pre-feed slows down overall process)
*Limited to auto naming for scan files, no manual naming
*Cannot scan to DWF
*Cannot reprint from scan folder
*Cannot scan to or print from USB at the copier
*Must use Xerox software to retrieve scans (pull from controller)
*Accounting is optional
*Uses developer and produces waste toner
*Cost of toner/op is 40% higher

How is that for starters?

I service both KIP and Xerox products so, I look at this from a technicians perspective. That being said, in my opinion, Xerox is much easier to work on. I realize, however, that isn't the issue we're discussing here. I just wanted to point out two things about what you have said about the 6605. Number one, it doesn't run developer. Number two, the 6605 is 5D per minute. I, personally, do like the KIP 3100 MUCH better than the old 3000 but, if I had to spend my own money on a machine, it'd be a 6605. Hands down.
