OK, going to describe this the best I can. I have a Customer who will scan a .tif on the 3100. He will then take the .tif file into Autocad and make a layer with the .tif...he says its just an image...after all said and done, the file is 80 / 90 meg. Now what he says is happening, is that the file will send to the 3100 and show in the Job Info screen on Gui...it will just sit there processing and basicly lock up his 3100. He can't remove it , other jobs lock up behind it and sit there until he manually removes it( by powering off the machine) When I was there today...it seemed to work ok...How long would it take for the 3100 to process a file of this size? Is customer impatient? He said it sat there for over an hour, then he removed it. I don't know too much about AutoCad, so i'm sry if I didn't explain this in Cad terms.

Use Request to pull the problem files and look to see if this print job is there. If turning the printer off and on clears the job, I would suspect it will be. I don't know how much help it will be, but if it doesn't help you try sending it to Kip.
The only thing I can think of is maybe the tif is somehow getting compressed with LZW compression in Autocad. Kip does not support lzw compression.
You can also try the Autodesk printing forum, someone there may have had this problem.

Is the customer using the windows driver or the autocad driver? That can make a huge difference.

Can your customer print from autocad directly to a PDF or PLT and see what the file size is there. then you could convert to tlc or tiff to send to the KIP. It might help clarify where the problem is.
just a thought

Also try using KIP Script in windows driver when you send the file.

Should be using the ACAD driver for sure. unless something has changed recently, the win driver regardless of language is not 100% consistent with acad products. Every once in a while you will have missing lines and whatnot.

"the file is 80/90mb" What file? The ACAD file should not be 80 or 90 mb after inserting a standard sized kip 400dpi scan. So something sounds messed up already. If the output file is that large you need to determine the proper driver and settings. As others have suggested, a quick workaround may be to go to pdf or dwf first and use request for output. Chances are that the customer will have a use or need for the pdf/dwf anyway.
