does anyone have suggestions for contending with overtoning, back ground issues or ghosting especially in the winter months when it is really cold and/or dry (below 20% humidity)
the fuser rollers are new and the drums aren't worn out yet
the dev units are in fairly good shape
thanks
also have a nice little whine since i worked on a couple of fuser sections in 2 machines, cant seem to figure out why

A good way to trouble shoot this problem is to do a stop print and see what the image is doing. It could be transfer or another charge related problem. Could be paper too, how is it being stored? You can also measure the distance of the ghost to find out the circumference of the roller that is causing the repeat.

Our machines are running around 17% humidity and they seem to run fine. Make sure your dehumidifiers are turned off.

Good luck and keep us informed.

I also had a background on one of my machine and it disapear after I finally change the drum. I was thinking of corona and dev unit again but I never think it could be the drum even if it looks like nice...

Like cjwilt says, be sure your deshumifier is off, outside of the machine you could have 20% but inside it could be at 10% of humidity.
