I have to say, I have been in the copier/printer service and repair industry for close to 15 years and I have to say that I would not recommend Kip products to anyone. The machine itself is lacking in many ways. I thought Xerox service manuals were bad but they are great compared to Kip. These manuals are the worst excuse for troubleshooting resources I have ever seen. The parts prices are so inflated it is not even funny and the tech support is practically non-existent. Just had to get that off my chest. Sorry if I hurt anyones feelings.

Wow...having a bad day? I agree with the parts inflated. Tech support is ok, I have seen worse. Manuals are ok, again I have seen worse.

Tomorrow will be a better day Smile

broken arrow alright... Ive worked on xerox pleanty... Their manuals are probably a little better... but they go to far into depth with procedures in my opinion. The problems with KIP do not stem from poor manuals or parts prices... Management.. now that is another story.

I've worked on Xerox and Kodak copier/printers for over 20 years. Xerox parts pricing is totally outrages. One year a btr roller was $30, the next year it was $550, then $700. All their parts are priced sky high. Xerox diagnostic s/w licenses were $3500 to $7500 per machine-per year (5090-Docutech) and you didn't get anything for paying it. Xerox manuals are good. I am sooooo glad to have no Xerox machines any more. Xerox is a total rip off.

As far as manuals go, try Canon manuals if you want to be hunting all over various books to find the info you want. Konica manuals aren't much better.

Our Kip 8000's have been great to us. Manuals aren't the best but the machines work great.

I'll never buy another Xerox machine and don't miss them whatsoever.

We service, KIP , Oce, Xerox, Ricoh and a few others.
As far as pricing goes for parts Oce is the worst then KIP, Xerox and Ricoh.
As far as support goes KIP hardware support is the worst, but software is good. Ricoh is pretty bad at both, Oce is hot and cold, Xerox is probably the best.
