 |
|
I have a brand new 5000 that, when submitting multiple long prints to 12" media, has started briefly flashing up a "Printer Error 44" message on the touchscreen ,then the machine reprints the first sheet, even though it printed fine. It will keep doing this until I cancel the job.
This only occurs when making multiple long prints (e.g. 100 inches) using 12" media. The error message seems to show up just as the machine starts to feed up the paper for the second print. If I force size the job to 36" media or print a single sheet, even on 12" media, I do not get this error. I have to admit I haven't tried printing multiple sheets using a shorter page size on the 12" media.
I have moved the 12" media from the Roll 1 position to the Roll 2 position plus swapped spindles without success.
KIP has not been able to tell me what Printer Error 44 is, which it makes it a tad difficult to trouble shoot!!!
Thanks for any help/suggestions you can provide. |

| What does the machine say the error is? Look at the service panel and see what error you are getting there. |

There are no error messages showing on the printer itself in this case but I will keep that in mind when trouble shooting the touch screen machines in future. Thanks for the idea.
We seem to have fixed this issue by increasing the bus timing at location 26 by 10 units.
Got the suggestion from KIP digital.

A Kipprnt error 44 means that there is more data left in the buffer and the printer is no longer accepting data.
On long prints this normally means that the cut length is set incorrectly, so the printer is cutting before all the data has been sent. If you set the cut length correctly the errors will go away. |

Getting this error on a 3000 lately. When it occurs a section of the plot that is printing is digitally cut off. Usually a 10x10 section towards the trailing edge on 36 wide only. I have a sample if you would like to see it. _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |
